The theory of nationalism is evaluated together with the phenomenon of nation and nation-state. Primordialists, Modernists and Ethno-symbolist approaches that examine the concept of nation have attributed different meanings to nationalism. There are different approaches to the emergence of nationalism. Although the emphasis on local identity is important, is nationalism a solution in the ideological context? Have theories of nationalism emerged in a planned way?
What happened during the exile period in the Crimean Tatar geography strengthened a national feeling towards the past and culture of the people. Undoubtedly, this common feeling has been effective in the construction and preservation of national identity. This study includes seeking an answer from the perspective of historical antecedents to the question of which approach is compatible with the Jadidism Movement, which was effective in the process of constructing and preserving the national identity of the 1944 Crimean Tatar exile within the framework of nationalism theories.
