SOSYAL MEDYA VE DIŞ POLİTİKA İLİŞKİSİNE YAKINDAN BAKMAK: TÜRKİYE’DE ÜNİVERSİTELİ GENÇ YETİŞKİNLER ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Bu çalışma, sosyal medyanın, bireylerin dış politikaya dair düşünce ve
davranışları üzerindeki rolünü irdelemeyi amaçlamakta ve bunun için vaka
çalışması ile ankete dayalı nicel analiz yöntemlerini kullanmaktadır. Çalışmanın
örneklem grubu Türkiye’deki 18-35 yaş grubu üniversiteli genç yetişkinlerdir. Bu
grubun dış politika algıları açısından, Sosyal Paylaşım Sitelerinin (SPSler) etkisini
ölçmek adına 18-22 Mart 2019 tarihleri arasında, 353 lisans ve lisansüstü üniversite
öğrencisine 20 soruluk klasik bir anket, elden dağıtılarak uygulanmıştır. Elde
edilen sonuçlar, Türkiye’deki genç yetişkinlerin yaklaşık %62’sinin dış
politikaya dair düşüncelerini oluştururken sosyal medya paylaşımlarından etkilendiğini
göstermektedir. Ankete cevap verenlerin en geniş kesimi (%47), sosyal medya
paylaşımlarının ülkenin dış politika yapımı üzerinde kısmen de olsa etkili
olduğuna, %17’si ise hiç etkili olmadığına inanmaktadır. Katılımcılar, sosyal
medya paylaşımlarını göz önüne aldıklarında Türkiye’nin bir numaralı sorunu
olarak öncelikle Suriye, ardından ekonomi ve ABD ile ilgili meseleleri
görmektedir.
