Abstract
Cümle, anlatımın temel parçasıdır. Dilin inceliklerini ve zenginliklerini gösteren birçok unsuru içinde barındırır. Bu nedenle Türk dilinin tarihi lehçelerinden standart Türkiye Türkçesine değin cümle, cümlenin unsurları ve söz dizimi birçok çalışmaya konu olmuştur. Karahan’ın “Türkçede Söz Dizimi” çalışması şüphesiz bu konuda yapılmış en önemli yayınlardan biridir.
Yazılı Türk dilinin başlangıç dönemi olan Eski Türkçede “cümle” üzerine yapılmış çalışmalar, konunun kapsamına da bağlı olarak çoğunlukla eser bazlı ya da tek bir cümle yapısını ele alan çalışmalardır. Eski Türkçenin kollarından biri olan ve sözvarlığı bakımından en geniş kolu olarak sayılan Eski Uygurcada da cümle üzerine yapılan çalışmalarda, aynı durum söz konusudur. Dr. Ülkü Polat’ın 2022 yılında Türk Dil Kurumu Yayınlarından çıkan “Eski Uygur Türkçesinde Cümle” isimli yayını “cümle” unsurunu bütünüyle ele alan bir yayın olması yönüyle öne çıkmaktadır. Çalışma Dr. Ülkü Polat’ın 2018 yılında aynı ismi taşıyan doktora tezinin küçük düzeltme ve eklemelerle kitaplaştırılmış halidir.

Abstract
The sentence is the essential part of the narrative. It contains many elements that show the subtleties and richness of the language. For this reason, from the historical dialects of the Turkish language to the standard Turkish of Turkey, the sentence, the elements of the sentence and the syntax have been the subject of many studies. Karahan's "Syntax in Turkish" is undoubtedly one of the most important publications on this subject.
Studies on "sentence" in Old Turkish, which is the beginning period of the written Turkish language, are mostly works-based or studies that deal with a single sentence structure, depending on the scope of the subject. The same situation is in question in the studies on sentences in Old Uyghur, which is one of the branches of Old Turkish and is considered to be the largest branch in terms of vocabulary. Dr. Ülkü Polat's publication named "Sentence in Old Uyghur Turkish", which was published by the Turkish Language Association in 2022, stands out as a publication that deals with the element of "sentence" completely. Study It is the book version of Ülkü Polat's doctoral thesis with the same name in 2018, with minor corrections and additions.
